After helping thousands of churches improve their media over the past five years, we realized there was so much knowledge within our Squad just waiting to be shared. Our 60+ Squad Members have tons of experience, tips, and tricks we've learned along the way - not to mention some stories you can relate to!
So we decided to start this blog, SquadChat, to empower your church media with practical insights, success stories, and more. Here you'll find everything from how-tos on creating Visual Direction for an event to managing creative burnout.
Our goal is simple: provide you with resources, ideas, and encouragement that help elevate your church's media and communication. Whether you're a communications director struggling to streamline processes or a ministry team lead drowning in project requests, our hope is that something here speaks to your specific challenges and opportunities.
A bit of backstory: Church Media Squad began in 2017 after our founder and CEO, Michael Tuszynski, found himself unexpectedly running his own church graphic design business. Although he hadn't planned on owning a church media company, he realized serving churches through creative and strategic communication could help translate the Gospel to today's visual culture - serving both the mission of making church media better and allowing pastoral staff to focus on their highest calling of loving people. That graphic design business evolved into Church Media Squad and here we are today - coming alongside churches to equip them to communicate their unique story in a way that inspires hearts and points them to Jesus.
After helping so many churches over the years, we discovered one truth remains consistent: churches thrive when their pastors are doing what they do best - loving people! Our job - at Church Media Squad and through this blog - is to continue to equip you with the knowledge, inspiration, and collaborations that bring back the joy of creativity and make you feel proud of how you present your church as part of the bride of Christ! We don’t want you to just “manage” media, we want you to feel like a curator of the most beautiful art you can offer your community! Art that inspires hearts and minds and stirs them to encounters with JESUS!
That's where SquadChat comes in. With each post, we’ll aim to offer some tidbit that moves the needle forward for you - whether that's a tip for working more efficiently with designers or an idea for engaging your congregation on social beyond just event promotions.
We know not every insight will land for every reader. But our prayer is that the collective wisdom shared here over time gives you fuel for the journey ahead - helping free up more mental space, energy and creativity for what really matters: loving people well and pointing them to Jesus!
